Menshikov Tower (Church of Archangel Gabriel)
Menshikov Tower, also known as the Church of Archangel Gabriel, is a Baroque Russian Orthdox Church. It was built in 1707 to order of Alexander Menshikov by Ivan Zarudny assisted by Domenico Trezzini, a team of Italian-Swiss craftsmen from Ticino and Freyburg cantons and Russian stonemasons from Kostroma and Yaroslavl. It was substantially altered in 1770
Tretyakov Gallery
The State Tretyakov Gallery was founded by a Russian merchant Pavel Tretyakov.
He donated his collection to the city of Moscow in 1892. The Gallery has since become a world-famous museum . Nowadays it contains more than 170 000 works by Russian artists from the early religious paintings to the modern art objects.
