Melnikov House

Considered one of the 20th century's most original buildings.  It was built by architect Konstantin Melnikov as his home and studio between 1927 and 1929 after he was granted a plot of land when he won a gold medal at the Paris World Fair in1925.  The 3-storey house comprises 2 interlocking cylinders.  It's in a bad state of repair: the Russian Avant-Garde Foundation is trying to save it, but its future is in doubt since the death of Melnikov's son in 2006.  You can see more details at http://melnikovhouse.org.
